RIG Project Sponsors

The Rebuild the Independence Group (RIG) thanks all of our Sponsors who have contributed to the success of our enterprise. All those listed below have given their time, expertise and/or money to help us promote American River's maritime heritage and bring The Independence to life!

Private Individuals

We consider anyone who donates funds to RIG to be one of our supporters no less than anyone who provides grant monies or in-kind support.   Our main fund raiser is our "Buy a plank" programme.

As we have now (March 2022) sold over 5000 planks at a minimum donation of $20, we have received over $100,000 from this scheme.   Thank you to everyone - and you come from all over the world - who has helped us in this way.  We love you all and hope you'll return to the Boathouse as often as possible.

Some of the planks are shown in the photo.

Kangaroo Island Real Estate

Lynne Savage from Kangaroo Island Real Estate has a long family history on her father’s side with American River, dating back to the 1930’s. For this reason and her admiration of the Founders of RIG (Tony Klieve and David Churchill) she is an extremely proud supporter and ambassador for our Project.

American River PO & Store

The American River PO and Store is the town's go-to location for all the essentials.  Open 5½ days, the shop provides banking services for most Australian banks, groceries, fresh fruit and vegetables, newspapers, wine, beer and spirits.  And, of course, all the normal post office services.

It's situated on Buick Drive, in the heart of American River.  Just look for the flags.
